I was feeling worn. Just done with the days problems. Tired. Grouchy. Just really wanting to move to a tiny cottage in the Swiss Alps and stare at the mountains all day.

Even if the last item isn’t quite relatable the first ones probably are. Why? We live in a tired world. It’s just broken. And there’s no denying it. BUT there is more. . .

Hello friends! It has been far too long. I’m sorry! Life has been catching up with me and business has snatched me in its clutches. But I am back! For just a short post. Well, actually we’ll see about that. 😉 But I am working on a really long one, I promise!

This one is just a snippet of encouragement that God gave me and I want to pass on to you.

Back to the scenario above. It hadn’t been a great day. Nothing really horrible, just normal, everyday exhausting things. And I was a bit of a mess. Then I remembered something.

Don’t we humans so easily forget?

I remembered that I have a Lord who loves me who wants me to talk to Him. He knows everything that’s going on, but He still wants me to tell Him. Why? I think it’s because He loves us, and us telling Him our problems, big, small catostrophic, microscopic, is so good for us.

The second I remembered to pray and turned my face up to heaven whispering the words “hey Lord”, I remembered how amazing it feels. How it feels like coming home.

My amazing, wise Dad (who is also the best for laughing, dad jokes and teasing– best of both worlds!), told me something very helpful a bit ago. We were talking about praying. And I was wondering, wondering about when it seems like prayers aren’t answered.

Daddy led me to Philippians.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

I know it’s a familiar passage. But read it again. Don’t look to see what you think it says. Don’t look to see what you want it to say. Look to see what it says. It’s funny how often we think we know everything about a topic or a verse. Let me just tell you, none of us know everything about anything. But that’s a rabbit trail… Back to the point.

Daddy pointed out to me that the purpose of prayer isn’t necessarily that our circumstances would be changed; but that we would have the peace of God.

And that hit me. Like, wow. Right? How many times I have prayed for something that I thought was best? And then God answered with a “no”. And His plan was one hundred times better. I’ll tell you a secret: His plan is better every time.

All that to say, even if your scared of the answer, even if your wondering if it will do any good, even if you don’t feel like it, pray. Because our God is big enough. He’s big enough. Your questions don’t scare Him, He isn’t shocked at your petitions or you worries or you frustrations. He died for you while you were His enemy. And He is listening. Not only is He listening but He promises to give you peace.

So, dear believer go to Him. Tell Him all about it. It doesn’t have to be perfect, polished, put together or full of peaceful belief. It doesn’t even have to make sense. That’s the whole point. Our God knows that we need Him. And He wants us. And isn’t that so amazing??

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve desperately prayed about something after putting it off for too long. No answer is visible. I don’t even know how to look for an answer, or get one. Do I just sit here until something happens? Do I flip my Bible open randomly and jab my finger onto a verse? It happens differently every time. Series it’s a verse during my Bible time. Sometimes it’s a brother or sister in Christ. Sometimes it’s a single star shining through the clouds. Sometimes a flower that whispers: “my name is hope”. And sometimes it’s waiting. Waiting and wondering and questioning for a long time. But reader, dear believer, dear one beloved of the King

GOD IS FAITHFUL.

Josie Praytor is not faithful. You are not faithful. Not like our Lord is. And He knows, and He is able, and He cares and He does.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

Romans 8:31-32

This means what’s truly good for us. And even if we don’t get an answer right when we pray, just talking to God, it does wonders. And one day we will look back and see how He had it all perfectly planned.

So friends, let’s you and I talk to our Lord. And let Him give you peace.
